Lifeguards - Perry Aquatic Centre
Permanent and Fixed Term Fulltime Lifeguard Vacancies
We are currently recruiting for enthusiastic, reliable and friendly lifeguards to join the team in Cambridge on a full time basis. Our lifeguards are responsible for the day-to-day pool operations within the facility and ensure that all areas both in and surrounding our pools are safe and clean for patrons.
You should be energetic, dynamic, outgoing and fun and have a genuine interest in water safety. You will need great communication skills and a commitment to customer service excellence to ensure our patrons enjoy their visit every time.
We also have fulltime fixed term positions available from Labour weekend to Easter to cover the opening of the outdoor pool for summer.
Starting rate is $23.20 per hour and full training can be provided.
We also have one vacancy for a Fulltime Lifeguard at the Te Awamutu Events Centre.
Club Waipa is a modern gym located upstairs of the Te Awamutu Events Centre. We offer a range of state-of-the-art equipment and Group Fitness Classes.
As a Fitness Instructor for Club Waipa, you’ll be helping people achieve their health and wellbeing goals and delivering fitness programmes for all ages and abilities across our diverse membership.
We are seeking someone who is passionate about fitness, health, and wellbeing and who has a genuine desire to help people achieve their fitness goals.
You need to hold a recognised fitness-related qualification and have knowledge of fitness training including fitness testing, prescription, and monitoring of clients.
To join our proactive and dynamic team, you’ll need to be a team player who is approachable, able to engage with members and be committed to providing members with a great experience.
Hours of work will be:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 1pm – 9pm.
Tuesday, Thursday 1pm – 6pm.
Weekend cover maybe occasionally required.
Guaranteed 31.5 hours per week
A full gym membership including access to the pools/spa/sauna

Learn to Swim Instructor
Swim Waipa aims to provide an inclusive community programme that encourages fun in the water, builds lifelong water safety, and develops aquatic ability.
We are seeking a teacher for our swim school based in Cambridge. The role would be working across all levels including baby classes.
If you are passionate about working with children and their families and have a great team spirit, we are willing to train.We are looking for a team member who is:
- Passionate about teaching swimming
- Great at building rapport with parents and children
- Committed, have great work ethics and work well as a team and contribute to the open exchange of ideas and discussions
- Previous experience working with babies and toddlers
This is a 25.5 hour week position, (during school terms) working across a 6-day roster with Saturday availability being essential. Ongoing professional development provided.
The position is deemed a safety sensitive position and will require pre-employment drug testing.We are committed to the protection and wellbeing of children. This role is classified as a Children’s Worker role under the Vulnerable Children Act 2014. As such applicants will be required to undergo police vetting and offers of employment will be subject to receiving a satisfactory check back.
