Lifeguards - Perry Aquatic Centre

As our Lifeguard, you will actively supervise the aquatic activities of customers. You will ensure the facility is kept to a high level of cleanliness and contribute to overall customer satisfaction and safety.

We are looking for friendly, outgoing people to join our team in a full-time role.

Ideally you are already PLPC qualified, however full training can be provided. To become qualified, you will be required to pass a swim test which involves being able to swim 200 metres in under six minutes.

Our facilities are open between 6am – 9pm Monday to Friday and 8am - 7pm on weekends. Your hours of work will be on a rostered basis covering these hours.

Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and police vetting.

Receptionist - Perry Aquatic Centre

We are looking for a bright and bubbly people to join our reception team in a fulltime position. Hours of work will be rostered Monday to Sunday, so flexibility is a must. Morning shifts start at 5.30am and afternoon shifts finish at 9pm.

As our Receptionist, you will be the first impression on the guests and visitors to our facility. It is your foremost responsibility to warmly greet all incoming visitors and members, help them with queries and provide any appropriate information that they need.

Other duties will include:
- answering phone calls and re-directing calls to respective departments
- Swim school enrolments
- processing concessions
- cash handling/point of sale

This role will suit those who ideally have had previous customer service experience, have a proven ability to build positive relationships, have strong communication skills and a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, specifically MS Word.
Knowledge of the Links modular system would be an advantage.

Applicants must be able to pass police vetting and a pre-employment drug test.

Lifeguard Team Leader - Cambridge and Te Awamutu

We have an exciting opportunity for two Lifeguard Team Leaders to join our team, one at the Perry Aquatic Centre in Cambridge and one at the Te Awamutu Events Centre. 

As a Lifeguard Team Leader, you will work to ensure that the lifeguard team meets the customer’s needs in terms of information, services, access and support, promptly and courteously, thus maximising customer enjoyment, safety and encouragement of ongoing facility use.

You will ideally have:

• A current NZQA First Aid Certificate
• A current PLPC Lifeguard Certificate
• Previous experience of aquatic facilities and knowledge of aquatic facility activities
• Previous experience leading a team

However, if you have previous team leader experience in a leisure industry, full training can be provided for the right person.

Part time Receptionist - Perry Aquatic Centre

We have a part time receptionist position available. Hours of work will be 6pm-8pm weekdays and 3pm-6pm weekends, The roster is two days on, two days off. Additional hours will be available to cover leave if interested.

You need to have a bubbly personality, be reliable and have a willingness to learn. Full training will be given.

The role is front of house, answering phones, point of sale, processing concessions and memberships and general enquiries.

Applicants need to be able to pass a pre employment drug test and police vetting.
